I was born and raised in Kernersville, Forsyth County and  since I retired have traced the Ballards extensively...back to Williamsburg in 1655...then England to 1200.

In reviewing the subject tax list....bottom reads...The following names were torn off or could not be read in the "B's" llard, William......

I offer the following:  from Hinshaws Quaker Records...William Junior BALLARD b. 1713-1715 Essex County, Va....William & his family granted certificate from Cedar Creek MM Bedford Co. Va. to Deep River MM (Rowan County then, Guilford now) in 1755.  I believe that this is the ..llard, William in the 1759 Rowan Tax List

William is in my direct line and also the direct line of Dr. Robert Ballard, of Woods Hole, who first located the Titanic. Thanks for your effort in putting this Tax List on line Regards....John Ballard Dawsonville, Ga.
