Will of Samuel Fulk, 1860, Rutherford Co TN

In the name of God, Amen. I, Samuel Fulk of the County of Rutherford and State of Tennessee, being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life, do therefore make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament; that is to say:

First, after all my lawful debts are paid and discharged the residue of my Estate real and personal consisting of three hundred and ten acres of land lying in Rutheford County known as the Fulk farm, two negro girls and one negro boy and about eighteen hundred dollars worth of notes and other property, I give and bequeath and dispose of as follows:

First: I wish my property both real and personal to be sold at public sale on one and two years time and the proceeds to be equally divided between my wife and heirs, to wit, as follows:

lst, my wife LUCY FULK and Heirs, ELIZABETH BRAGG, NANCY PARKER, ADALINE NELSON, JOHN FULK, SAMUEL FULK, CAROLINE JAMISON AND ELENOR MCMAHAN or their heirs.

Likewise, I make, constitute and appoint William Barton to be Executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have therunto subscribed my name and appised my seal This the Eighth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty.
