Will of Joseph Stanley:
In the name of God Amen I Joseph Stanley being of Perfect sence and sound Memory do this fourth day of March In the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and four Make and Ordain this to be my Last will and testament In manner and form following that is to say - 1st I will that my beloved wife sarah possess and enjoy all my tract of land wherein I now Live with all the Improvements thereunto belonging Containing thirty acres during her widowhood and if she has an heir begotten of my bodey that it fall to it and its heirs foreverbut If she die without an heir begoten of my bodey In that case the sd. thirty acres of Land above Mentioned to fall then to a William Stanley junor son of Thomas Stanley sd. I leave to my beloved wife one feather bed and furniture and one high bedstead one cow and Calf one chest and one woollen wheel one pare of cotten Cards one pare of woollen cardes one pewter tankerd One bottle and one tin sugar box one Cheer[Chair]one Dutch oven one small pot and skillet.

2ndly I will and bequeath unto my grandson Phillip Stanley son of Reubin Stanley Decd. all the plantation and tract ofland where I formerly Did Live Containing One hundred and twenty Acres Lying and being in the County aforesd. on the waters of Abets Crock [Creek] near the widow Mocks and if so be the said Phillip but should die before he has an heir Lawfully begotten In such case I will and bequeath the said Land unto Phebe Stanley Elizabeth Stanley and Catharine Stanley Daughters of my son Reuben Stanley Deceased their heirs forever.

3rdly I will unto My son Thomas Stanly one Pine table one pare of tillards one small Bible two Razors and Case one ax and Mattock orty Dollars to Discharge a note Given by myself to James Caldwell of Rowan County Also twelve bushels of Corn and half the Meat In hand allso one side saddle I give and bequeath unto Grand Daughter Mary Stanley Daughter of Thoms. Stanley I also at my Decease Leave my horse bridle and saddle and saddle bags to Joseph Stanley son of Thoms. Stanly I also Give unto William stanley my son Eighty one Dollars and thirty four cents in the hands of John Linsey I allso Give unto son William Stanly One Round tea table and Large trunk the sd. table and trunk at his Decease to fall to my Daughter Sarah Maston if she should be the Longest Liver I allso Give unto My two Daughters Elizabeth and sarah maston One feather bed furniture and one Low bedsted to them and their heirs forever. I also Give unto My Daughter ary teauge ten Dollars in Cash I also Give unto My Daughter Elisabeth Maston One Iron pot and shovel - - - - As to any other of my property that is not mentioned in this will to be equaly Devided between My wife and all my Children - -

4thly I nominate apoint and Ordain my son William Stanley and Ezeikel Teague my son in Law Executors of this my Last Will and testament to carry the same Into Effect - -

5thly and I Do hereby Utterly Revoke Disanull and Make void all former Wills and testaments by Me at any time here to fore made Ratifying Confirming and Establishing this and no other yo be My Last will and testament - -
