Reuben Zimmerman Family

First Generation

Reuben Zimmerman (1765-1842) was born in Culpeper Co. VA, probably the son of John Zimmerman, although possibly of his cousin Frederick, and married Elizabeth Ziglar (1766-1835) there in 1785. They are buried in the Zimmerman family cemetery at Stanleyville NC.

Children of Reuben Zimmerman and Elizabeth Ziglar
John Zimmerman (1788-bef. 1835) m. Nancy?
James Zimmerman (1793-1843). His will names his brothers and sisters, no wife or children.
Susanna Zimmerman m. Leonard Pinegar (d. bef. 1838) in 1817, moved to Tennessee
Leanna Zimmerman (ca. 1798-1872) m. Levi Crews (ca. 1807-1888)
Reuben Zimmerman (1805-1844). His will names his brothers and sisters, no wife or children.
Elizabeth Zimmerman (1807-1879) m. Philip Barrow (1809-1871)

Second Generation

Children of John Zimmerman and Nancy
James Calvin Zimmerman (1832-?) m. Martha Adaline Speas (1829-?). Whose daughter was she?

Reuben Zimmerman's will names "heirs of deceased son, John". This suggests that there may have been other children. James is probably the James C. Zimmerman age 17 living with Philip and Elizabeth Barrow in 1850.
