Gibbins Family

First Generation

This family name sometimes appears as Gibbons. The naming patterns in the early generations, and the association with Friedland Moravian Church, suggest that it is of German origin.

John Christian Gibbins (1778-1841) married Maria Magdalena Hein (1784-1871), daughter of Jacob William Hein and Catharina Blessing and widow of Thomas Fortuner.
