*Previously we noted that Johann David Holder appears as a saddlemaker's apprentice in the Moravian records, but then is lost from view, and we wondered if he moved away or died young. We now strongly suspect that he went to Pennsylvania and that he was the father of Henry Holder (1803-1848) who married Elizabeth Pinkley. Thanks to Pat Smith for this information! DNA testing on a sample from a descendant of Henry and Elizabeth confirms that Henry is part of our Holder family.
