Jabez Jarvis was born about 1725, perhaps in New Jersey. Sometime after 1750 he left New Jersey for Frederick Co., Maryland where he rented land in 1763. The name "Jabez Jarvis" appears twice on the Rent Rolls of Frederick Co., Maryland in 1767. By 1769 Jabez was in Surry County, North Carolina.
