Smith Family


Nathan Smith along his wife Rebecca and their children were living in the Frederick County Hundred (Maryland) in 1776. Rebecca's maiden name is not known.


First Generation:

Children of Nathan Smith (1735-?) and Rebecca (1732-?)
Ali (Eli) Smith (1757)
Archabald Smith (1760)
Leander Smith (1762)
Preshey (Priscilla?) Smith (1764)
Benjamin Smith (1765)
Drucilla Smith (1766-after 1837) m. Elisha Jarvis (1757-1837) (m. 1786 in Rowan Co., NC)
Nathan Smith, Jr (1772)
Roda (female) Smith (1773)

Nathan Smith and his sons, Eli and Archabald, served in the Rev. War, Montgomery County, MD.


Second Generation:

Elisha Jarvis married Drucilla Smith on May 27, 1785 and in 1790 moved to Wilkes County, GA, and shortly after moved to Clark County, GA. They moved again in 1827 to Pickens District, South Carolina and there he lived until he died in 1837. Drucilla applied for his penision in 1844 and mentions their daughter, but she is not named. Drucilla also states that she was about 78 years of age in 1844.

They are found in the Rowan County Census Records in 1790: Elisha Drucilla 1 son 2 daus.
