Fiscus Family


First Generation

The immigrant Johann Frederick Fiscus was born about 1707, probably near Engelstatt or Woeffsheim, Pfalz, Germany, and married Anna Elisabeth Schwind there. Births of their oldest children were recorded in nearby Ober Saulheim. They immigrated in 1743 on the Loyal Judith, and settled in Lancaster Co. PA, where Anna Elisabeth died in late 1750 or early 1751. Johann Friedrich then moved to Maryland, where he married Maria Eva, surname unknown, with whom he moved to North Carolina. Johann Frederick died in Surry County NC in 1772 and Maria Eva died in 1786.

Johann Adam Fiscus was living in Washington County, IN in 1832 when he declared that he entered the Revolutionary War as a volunteer in Moravian Town, NC in 1778; Company of Capt. Henry Smith, Col Locke's Regiment.
