Mickey Family

First Generation

Johann Michael Mücke or Muecke (1708-1786) and Eva Catharina Metzger (Muenzer in some records; 1721-1755) were married in the Great Wedding at Herrnhaag, Germany, in May 1743, and immigrated to America as part of the "Second Sea Congregation" of Moravians on the Little Strength later that summer. Their five sons were all born in Pennsylvania. One son, Johannes, came to North Carolina with a group of older boys in 1764. His descendants spell the surname Mickey.
